Slimbridge

I have lost count the amount of times I have visited Slimbridge now, but it never fails to bring joy and peace to me.

So many chicks, I don't think I have ever seen so many.

It's lovely to photograph the wildlife, but also the fauna aswell.

I just love this shot of the rain on the feather.

Until next time.

Newark Park National Trust

I have been a member of the National Trust for a couple of years now.  Although I do find the new system of only being able to book one week in advance frustrating and hopefully this will ease it is lovely to visit places.

Newark National Trust is only 30 minutes drive from home.  The house itself was not open, but we were able to do a 3 mile walk around the grounds which was lovely.

Now this is a lovely view to have a nice hot drink.

Along with a beautiful view for casting on new socks.

If you enjoy reading and seeing the pictures on my blog, please do comment it's lovely to know what people think.

The Malvern Hills

Day two of trips out.

Today was a 7.5 mile round trip walk along the Malvern Hills which spans a total of 10 miles one way along the ridges.

The hills goes through Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire and has spectacular views over Gloucestershire to one side and over to the mountain ranges of Wales and the Wye Valley on the other.

Going in May were treated to an amazing spectical of thousands of Bluebells both in the woods and on the hillside.

When walking along the range in the distance there appeared a whole group of paragliders. Wow what a spectal!  They flew so high it was incredible. Sadly they were too far away to catch the big group, but I did get a video of a couple of them when we reached the peak they were launching from.

On the way back to the car park at British Camp Car park, there was a kiosk selling refreshments. Wow the selection of ice cream was great.

So like Lineover Woods which I discovered this year, I'm sure these hills will have a revisit and will look different again next time.

Cotswold Wildlife Park

I am very lucky where I live in the Cotswolds to have lots of places that if you just want to have a day trip their is no shortage of places to visit

So for 5 days I have had some annual leave from the "day job".  So for day 1 of the holiday we headed off to Cotswold Wildlife Park, which is approximately 40 minute drive from home near a lovely town called Burford.

The park has a huge range of animals from Rhino's, Red Panda's, Zebra, Lions many different Owls.  A small area with UK animals such as Shetland ponies, Sheep and goats.  There is also Penguins and Meerkats.

Along with the animals are beautiful gardens, with a special walled garden which had a mass of Tulips on display.  Alongside this are the grounds which have some lovely plants and a great variety of Bamboo.

I didn't take a huge amount of images as my partner took her ginormous camera with her!

But I did get a few shots of some inspirational things for future knit designs.

I just loved the colours on the chicken too.

So if your ever in the area then why not head over and check it out.

Rainy Bank Hol walk

So as is normal for UK when it comes to Bank Holidays, the forecast was set for rain.

But I really wanted to get out and enjoy some fresh air.

I intended going to the local wildlife reserve, but due to inconsiderate parking there was no space.

So I headed off in the direction of Tewkesbury. Then took a left turn and came across Oddas Chapel which is owned by English Heritage.

I have not explored the local area to me much, over the years I tend to just frequent the same places.

This was a beautiful walk running parallel to the River Severn.

The open space, wind, rain and bird song where just a beautiful and so relaxing.

It makes me release how important being outside is.

Please enjoy my visual diary.

The curvature of this building is incredible and I just love the black and white detail

On my walk I came across this boat just in the middle of the path. This would normally be odd but then it was right next to the river which gets flooded nearly every year.

I just loved this brightly coloured mistletoe hanging from the tree.

The fields where just full of beautiful colour.

The ducks joined me for a short section of my walk.

I did a lovely circular walk and ended up at caravan site, which was a lovely location, but due to the closeness to the river all the caravans had to be elevated up.

I stopped on the way back, found a sheltered spot and enjoyed listening to the birds and drinking my warm drink.

I didn't realise I was right next to the local sailing club too so that was a nice surprise.

Until next time.....

Hamza Yassin and my knitwear

So to say I am a huge fan of Hamza Yassin is a massive understatement. I had the privilege to meet Hamza earlier this year at the Hay Book F...
