Knitting while in lockdown

I am designing a jumper for my son for his birthday
Loving the "plumpness" of the Fisherman's Rib

These started out with the intention of being an afterthought heel sock, but I decided to make them into a long fingerless mitt.
Yarn from Easyknits, colourway Daffodil and contrast yarn from Vicki Brown

My own sock design, pattern called Serenity Sock.
Usining Stranded Dyeworks and West Green Loft yarn

This is a waistcoat that I made using John Arbon Knit by Numbers yarn for my partner.

Little by little my blanket progress.
Yarn pack from Attic 24 Dune colourway.
Pattern is a combination of Garter stitch and Habitation Throw by Helen Stewart

Stan's first sleepover

So we have had Stan the camper for a little while but have not managed to get out and have a sleepover.

But the perfect occasion arose as it was Na's birthday so with the advice of a good friend we headed off to Cotswold Water Park near Cirencester.

We found a car park next to Lakeside Lake where we could park up for the night and it only cost £5 for 24 hours!

As we got there at 4pm we had time to do a spot of knitting and reading.

We then had a cuppa and something to eat before heading off on a walk to the opposite side of the lake.

The light was incredible and just watching the rippling water was just mesmerising.

We woke at 6.30 on what was going to be blisteringly hot day with temperatures in the 30's

But it was a lovely view to wake up too.

After brekky we sat a chilled for a while and watched the Damsonfly's darting in the air and I took some Macro shots of the morning dew.

As we had paid for 24 hour parking we then headed off for a walk to nearby lakes, of which their are many to choose from.

The park is very well laid out with cycle and walking paths running alongside the road so you can easily and safely get to other sites.

We ended up at Lake 6 where we had an ice cream from the local dairy before heading off on our walk.

Before heading home we made a pitstop to Cirencester a beautiful Cotswold town that we will re visit as it is so lovely, just find someone not too expensive to park.

I hope you've enjoyed my photo diary, all the images are taken using a Huawei P30 Pro camera phone.

Until next time.....

Slimbridge day out.

This month my partner Na and I became the proud owner of Stan, our Caddy Camper.

We have so many exciting trips planned, just the freedom to be able to drive somewhere in the countryside or visit the coast, we can sleep in the van and be completely self sufficient is brilliant.

For Stans second trip we headed to our favourite place WWT Slimbridge

I love visiting and have been a member for many years.

All my photographs have been taken on my mobile Huawei P30 Pro.

I love the Flamingoes their colour is just incredible.

The gardens around Slimbridge never fail to have a beautiful display and are great for insects.

Slimbridge is spending an incredible amount of money continually improving the visitors experience to the site.  They have built a new hide which over looks the river Severn Estury and you have views over to The Forest of Dean, it is just spectacular.

So alongside taking pictures I also cast on a new sock that I knitted whilst walking around.

I do hope you enjoy my blog, please feel free to leave me a comment below.

Until next time.

Hamza Yassin and my knitwear

So to say I am a huge fan of Hamza Yassin is a massive understatement. I had the privilege to meet Hamza earlier this year at the Hay Book F...
