The "Blue" Rug

I decided it was long overdue to make my gorgeous son Harry something knitted and as he doesn't "do" knitted garments, what better than a rug to make.

So this is the progress of the rug from beginning to end....

Harry had full choice of yarn so we co-ordinated with his room colour

I picked up 199 stitches and then made a moss stitch 10 row panel to join the panels and edging

I love the cable design close up

The reverse middle panel which has a lovely 3d effect

Proudly added to Harry's room along with his favourite "cuddly" toy

Mid March and all is spring like.

First of all I have come across the most beautiful blog http://www.tillyroseblog.blogspot.com/

Then whilst looking through the gorgeous Cotswold Living Magazine
(that I have fallen in love with again, after a time away) http://www.allaboutyou.com/home/channel~index?source=2

I then found http://william-morris.co.uk/
It is uncanny as William Morris inspired my final disertation work all those years ago, when I worked on a project of "Knitted Interiors inspired by William Morris".

Now onto my garden's progress which is so lovely to see

Lovely new shots popping up

Lovely red berries against the variaged leaves

Love the bright red/yellow

I love my "lady statue" I've had for years

My Pink heather in the front garden

The Magnolia is beginning to flower

My gorgeous Ironwork Planter specially made for me

Inspiration inspired by Attic 24

 A beautiful Valentines bouquet
My favourite vase for lovely detail when the sun shines throw it

A lovely potted plant from the Supermarket that can then be planted in the garden so double value

I love these bright yellow colours even more so as they were grown in my very own garden

The Country Living Magazine is a magazine I have been drawn back to after a few years away.  Inspired by the incredibly beautiful blog of Attic 24 & the stunning pictures.  In March's issue they have a feature called "The Art of Craft" will William Morris famous quote "have nothing in your home you believe not to be useful or know to be beautiful".  My final disertation project was on knitted interiors with Williams Morris as my ispiration, so it is fitting that they also have an artical about a Cumbrian knitter within the magazine too.
