Perfect Sunday.

Today has turned out to being an almost
perfect Sunday.

It started with the normal dog walk over to cheltenham race course which was rather chilly with snow still on the ground and the normal ponds with aan covering of ice.  The hill that we often walk (Cleeve hill) was very misty in low cloud.

Then I was treated to an early Valentines meal so In picked a restaurant i've been wanting to go to for long time.  Jamie Olivers Italian restaurant openend a few months ago to a very popular reception.  The restaurant is a converted old court house with the eating area being within the court, we sat on the defendants bench!  The toilets are great they are the old cells!

Then it was home to chill watch our favourite NCSI which Indie watched too!!

My latest excitement is that I can now take photo's I've taken on camera and put on iPad, so wanted to share with you.

Snow is due

Today they have issued a weather warning for snow across most of England. It hasn't materialised just yet but having had a very very cold walk up on the hill with the dogs, which I thoroughly enjoyed I am ready for it now.

Upon my return from my walk I was greeted with my monthly magazine a clean lovely new floor tiles that the other half had scrubbed and can settle down to either my crotchet or sock making. Have a lovely weekend fellow bloggers.

Day off

Last four days we have been having our dining and living room re tiled after a flood in the kitchen last year. So for two glorious albeit cold days with temperatures reaching no more than 2 degrees, the dogs have had a two hour walk up the hill and I have done some crafting.

Today I decided to stay upstairs for a bit due to coldness and spent some time in the bedroom with the cat trying to master my sock for mum, using a lovely book I had at Christmas called socks from the toe up.

Some long awaited creative posting.

It seems a very long time since I have posted anything creative that I have been working on so I shall now share three projects that I have enjoyed making.

The first is a Christmas present for my beloved partner which I am really pleased with and was chuffed when Sublime  asked if they could use the picture of said jumper in their link on ravelry and mine on ravelry shows more detail.

Also over Christmas me and H went to visit the folks and I found my long and in previous years much loved Suee that had been knitted and made for my sister 49 years ago!! 

I decided to bring her home and to co-ordinate with the bedroom made her her very own dress.

The finally project I want to share is some fingerless mitts H asked me to make him, as being a boy it is not "cool" to be seen in a hand made jumper apparently! but mitts are cool and I have to say I am again very pleased with them.  The link to them and the pattern I have made is on Ravelry the only request I would make is if you are going to use the pattern please link to my page.

Lastly I had to share a new photograph of our walk on my phone setting of our lovely Cleeve Hill walk as I love the Panoramic shot it really conveys the view.

My Christmas Eve day at Slimbridge

It is tradition for me and my son to have a visit to Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge as I just love the tranquillity there and also the photo opportunities.

I took approximately 50 pictures to H's 100+ but some of his are incredible standard it has to be said.

Today I focused more on colour and texture than just the birds so here are my favourite pictures from the trip.

Winter is here!

Been a little while since doing an update on "Indie".  Really I should re name my blog from "Textureknit" to "Indie" but as I am currently working on a knitting project which is taking a while to produce I thought I would keep my blog going in the vain of the development of the new puppy in the family and general photography.

Today was again the weekly trip up the hill with the dogs. But it was far more blustery and wintery than it has been in previous weeks.  Winter has really come upon us but I guess not as bad as north of the country where they have snow and in two weeks time it will actually be Christmas day!! Goodness that does not seem possible although I did finish wrapping all my presents yesterday so that is a good sign and we put up the decorations so it is a festive feel in our house now.

So this picture is the 3 stooges as I like to chart how Indie is growing against his counter parts Ebony and Willow. 

The was still some lovely colour around the hill in terms of berries on the trees, vivid yellow coarse and the lovely browns of the discarded leaves.

This was on the journey home when Indie is way more chilled!

Last weekend we had a trip to Cheltenham town centre and the Christmas fair and came home with the most amazing "buy of the year" blanket that is pure wool and I truly adore.

To finally equip ourselves for the winter and many hours of dog walking we visited Go Outdoors and I purchased a pair of snow boots that are basically like wearing slippers but will be awesome if we get snow and ice and a Gore-Tex "Paprika" coloured jacket that is sure to keep out the harshest rain (or so it says!) time will tell.

Next week is a going to be a great build up to Christmas starting with a Christmas show at cubs for Harry, followed by a lovely carol service at the local church by all of Harry's school.  Then for the first time I shall be going to a carol service at Tewkesbury Abbey which I think will be a lovely atmosphere and amazing acoustics with the choir boys singing.
