Sudley Castle, Winchcombe

Today we took advantage of our Tesco vouchers paying for entry to places and took a visit to Sudley Castle.

It is steeped in history , has lovely gardens and lots of ornaments made by local crafts people.  Here is my photo diary of some of the trip.

Trip to garden centre

Today was combination of visiting folks for a joint birthday visit as was my mum's 70th yesturday, my dad's 70th on Monday and my birthday Monday too.  So we went on the train knitting in toe and headed off for the day.

Due to the unseasonal very wet day we went to the biggest garden centre I know which houses everything from flowers, gifts, knitting, crafts, fish, hamsters and conservatories to name but a few.

The part I loved was all the textured and colourful pots.

Anniversary day and home again.

On 8.8.12 I received the most unique, amazing and thoughtful present.  Mrs A-B had been planning for months and with the help of an incredible talented jewlery friend that we use for any of our ideas they produced my breath taking bangle.  It is designed around the theme of a knitting needle and has the 8 which can either depict the needle or in my mind 8th of August.

After we swapped gifts we heading again on the train to Dawlish and then stopped off at Teighmouth. Now these were far more what I had in mind as seaside towns. So pretty, Dawlish in particular had the lovely river running down the middle but also the sea front too.  Teighmouth had a lovely long sea front with a peir, a great skate park for the kids and the estuary that rain down to the sea.

On our way back home we stopped of at Brean sands where we normally bring the dogs so it was a little odd being dog free.

Part 1 Hotel and Torquay.

It has been four glourious years since I married my beautiful wife, so to celebrate I booked for us to go away for three nights down in Devon.

As usual I have taken lots of photo's that I would like to share and keep for memory.

This part will show were we stayed and our first trip out on the train, which I think is such a great way to travel where possible as no stress of finding your way around a new town and no paying of car parks.

It was so lovely being at the sea even though it was heavy showers it ment that once we had explored the harbour we went and looked at the shops. For me too many were "tacky" but we did find a lovely gallery and a shop selling Emma Ball merchandise and we got some awesome new oven gloves.

Then it was time for tea and people watching, we found a window seat in a very quaint tea room and watched the rain, people and life it was lovely.

Then before catching the train back we stopped briefly on the shingle beach and I collected some "goodies".
